Christian Science is a religion based on the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Its teachings are set forth in `Science and Health with Key to the scriptures,` by Mary Bake Eddy. The Church of Christ, Scientists was formed in 1879 by Mrs. Eddy and 15 of her students.
Christian Science seeks to heal physical illness as well as sin by spiritual means. Christian Scientists believe that if they can return to original Christian practice they can engage the healing power that Jesus Christ was able to apply according to the New Testament.
